Flow is really needed.
And contrast is a fancy word for how all colours have a one-ness. And you don't use 'opposites'. for ex. You don't use blue on red, why? Because red is the opposite of blue-- they don't mix.

So follow what Bankai says, and keep practising, you'll get there one day.
